Professional Scrum™️ with Kanban

There is a myth that teams must choose between Scrum and Kanban. There are many benefits to optimizing the workflow in Scrum by leveraging Kanban practices.

Professional Scrum™ with Kanban (PSK) is a two-day interactive and certifying training course that teaches experienced Scrum Masters and other Scrum practitioners how to improve the way they work by applying Kanban practices in the Professional Scrum context.

Through theory, case studies and hands-on exercises, students will learn how Kanban practices can help Scrum teams achieve better results by improving workflow.

The objectives of the Professional Scrum™️ with Kanban course

• Understand the Kanban flow and practices from the perspective of the Scrum team.
• Explain how Kanban practices can be used to improve the flow within a Sprint.
• Increase transparency by helping the scrum team visualize their workflow.
• Use data to create a Scrum team’s service level expectation (SLE) to improve delivery predictability.
• Apply the flow concept and Kanban practices during Scrum events.
• Help the team overcome common flow issues by actively managing the WIP.

What you will learn

You will learn how to optimize their workflow by adding four Kanban practices to Scrum:

• Visualizing the Sprint Backlog workflow on a Kanban board
• Limiting work in progress (with WIP limit)
• Active management of work in progress.
• Continuous inspection and adaptation of the way the team uses flow optimization.

By leveraging these practices, teams improve transparency, collaboration, and self-management, developing their ability to achieve sprint goals at a sustainable pace.

In addition, this course is designed to help students track and manage flow metrics to provide more predictable delivery patterns, which will help them overcome common delivery issues to achieve “Done”.

Students will leave with a better understanding of what good Kanban is and how to implement it in a professional Scrum environment.
