Applying Professional Scrum™️

APPLYING PROFESSIONAL SCRUM logo

Applying Professional Scrum™️ (APS) is THE training for teams and anyone who wants to experience the Scrum way of working. It provides the basic knowledge needed to follow the training courses focused on the Product Owner and Scrum Master roles, offered in the Professional Scrum Master™️ and Professional Scrum Product Owner™️ courses.

The course is an introduction, reset or refresh of Scrum. This course is designed for teams or anyone who wants to experience the Scrum way of working. It provides the basic knowledge necessary for all those who are interested in participating in subsequent role-based training (Scrum Master, Product Owner)

The mechanics of Scrum are presented, as well as an overview of the concepts of complexity, team collaboration and self-organization, as essential elements of Scrum mastery. Participants will learn how the Scrum framework improves product development efforts. With an emphasis on practical applications, the course exposes common errors, increases awareness of associated symptoms, and provides prescriptive instructions to avoid getting off course.

Students work in teams in a series of sprints to build a software application, facing real-life problems. The mechanics, roles and principles of Scrum are put to good use during the exercises.

The course introduces common misconceptions and misunderstandings, so students develop a greater awareness of the associated symptoms. It provides prescriptive guidance to avoid derailing and keep Scrum healthy. Challenged to act in Scrum terms, participants gain a better understanding of how to collaborate and work as a team in the context of Scrum.
